Work less, make more, and have more fun doing it.

Let me help you move your firm forward!
Four years ago, I found myself at a crossroad. I was working long hours, weekends, missing out on things with my family, growing frustrated, caught in the day-to-day -- literally to the point I was wanting to quit or get fired. I knew there had to be a better way. I wanted to be in more control of my day (and my life) and just felt stuck. After reading Edi Osborne’s book Firm Forward, I was inspired and had hope of a better option for me and my family, my team and our profession in general. The book showed me that it’s possible to have more meaningful relationships, while working less – pretty much getting to have our cake and eat it, too. The problem for me was, there was no playbook (trust me, I looked!) to guide me through exactly what to do to move me and My Firm Forward.
So, I sucked it up and started trying to figure it out. I read everything I could find from advisory to systems theory and time management, learning from the best in each space. Then, I just started trying things. What I found is there is no silver bullet to move your firm forward, it’s a lot of small changes that make it work. It’s an intentional process that takes time. I learned this the hard way by almost breaking our firm by trying to move everyone forward too quickly. While not perfect, over the past four years my Firm and I have been able to move forward. Today, our clients are being served in more meaningful ways, our firm culture is better, and our home lives are better (all leading us to working less, making more and having more fun while doing it). If you are feeling stuck like I was, I would love to help provide encouragement to you and develop a plan that fits your firm along the way.
I’d like to give a special thank you to my Partners and team at SJHL – they have tried more things than I can count and have faithfully stuck by my side these past few years while we have developed this playbook together.
